Hello!
It's probably late to share the auspicious shirt colours of 2024 but I think it works for some people to want to know colours in Thai. So, I decided to repost the chart I made in January 2024. In 2025, I will share a new set based on the most famous fortuneteller! Of course, the idea of each year was not based on my thoughts (I'm not a fortuneteller LOL).
Hope you learn some vocabulary about colours in Thai. If you want to know what auspicious shirt colours are, read below.
Thais believe in auspicious shirt colours that they will bring luck to that person. Basically, everyone can apply the same colour rules. For instance,
Sunday - you can wear a red shirt.
Monday - you can wear a yellow shirt.
Tuesday - you can wear a pink shirt.
Wednesday - you can wear a green shirt.
Thursday - you can wear an orange shirt.
Friday - you can wear a light blue shirt.
Saturday - you can wear a purple shirt.
How can this belief begin? Let me explain.
Thai people adopt a belief from Hindu legends based on the colours of the gods who protect the days (READ MORE). Also, this belief is related to Thai birthday colours. As you can see when driving pass the government offices during the king's birthday (every 28th July), you would see many yellow flags decorated around the offices to celebrate the birthday anniversary of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua (Rama X). Could you guess what day the HM Rama X was born? The answer is Monday.
The picture below was the celebration of HM Rama X's birthday anniversary at school.
Here is the celebration at the subdistrict administrative organization of Her Majesty Queen Suthida's birthday anniversary. The HM Queen was born on Saturday. Therefore, the purple is the auspicious colour symbol.

When time goes by, the auspicious shirt colour belief has been expanding, there are many categories of auspicious colours and colours will be changed every year except the main list from Hindu legends. ฺBelow I made a list of auspicious colours. I adopted from @morkai99, a famous fortuneteller. In Thai language, we call a fortuneteller as หมอ /mɔ̌ɔ/ which means a specialist or a medical doctor. I give you another example of หมอ /mɔ̌ɔ/ which not relevant to a medical doctor.
For example,
หมอนวด /mɔ̌ɔ.nûat/ - a massager (a person who specializes in massaging.
-นวด /nûat/ means to massage.
2. หมอดู /mɔ̌ɔ.dūu/ - a fortuneteller
-ดู /dūu/ means to look, to see, to forsee (the future).
3. หมอผี /mɔ̌ɔ.phǐi/ (a shaman - a person who deals with a ghost or supernatural thing).
-ผี /phǐi/ means a ghost.
Alright, after explaining auspicious shirt colours, now it's time to learn some vocabulary about colours. The categories will be separated into 5 parts as follows;
